Introduction

As technology-based solutions evolve, cloud applications are becoming more elaborate and challenging to develop, deploy, and manage.

A current trend is that organizations frequently have to address business requirements that result in multi-cloud environments where applications and data end up deployed to more than one public cloud provider.

Multi-cloud refers to using several services and instances of multiple cloud platforms from different vendors. With multi-cloud, using different vendors means access to several features, underlying infrastructure, security, and other elements specific to the vendor’s offerings, APIs and SDKs.

It’s beyond the scope of this blog post to provide an extensive explanation of the concept of multi-cloud. If you need a better understanding of multi-cloud, please check our technical guides on how Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and ODSA support implementing multi-cloud solutions.
